dear fellow netflix viewers

is it really that hard to keep a dvd clean? it is only in your possession for what, two, three days? maybe a week tops? some of us have been waiting patiently for that dvd to come to our house, only to put it in our player and find that there is some crazy scratch or something gooey on it. then it won't play in my computer. then i get pissed. real pissed. imagine that you were at school from midnight until 7 am. you go home and you are so excited to watch futurama season four disc four. then your computer can't read it. rude. so rude. maybe stop kicking it around the dirty floor in your sick ass house and don't let your dirty little kids touch it either.

For decades, Northern Uganda has been plagued with civil wars, disease and severe poverty.

Thousands of destitute women and children are displaced without home or land.

Faced with food, shelter, school fees, and medical bills, these women are in dire straits; fighting every day simply for the survival of their families.

To help them in their fight, Empowerment Project: The Women and Children of Kaberamaido in partnership with Trivani Foundation, are matching the strength and ingenuity of mothers and widows by selling "paper bead" necklaces made by the women themselves.

Each necklace is made from magazine pages and demonstrates the creativity, vision, and fortitude the women of Kaberamaido must exercise daily to survive. By purchasing one of these necklaces, not only will you be empowering women to earn an income, but empowering choice. Through economic development, women can reclaim their agency, respect and dignity.

All proceeds of the necklaces and kissing booth will directly support the creation of micro-enterprise, more training opportunities, and microcredit loans enabling women to support themselves and their children.

i know cats love boxes, but ronnie loves to file herself away. last night i bought these three drawer organizer things for my bathroom. i set them on my bed and when i came back in my room she had pushed the drawers out just enough to climb inside.







even a few months ago she was doing the same thing, see? climbing into this filing box.

when i was little, my dad would read us this book. this poem by pooh always made us laugh and laugh and laugh. and it still makes me laugh. and i can hear my dad reading it. and it makes me happy.

i love you spring! you sunburned my left arm, but that is ok. you also gave me a weird tan line on my back, but i can overlook that. i am just happy that the sun is back out and school is almost over!

i get to go to the zoo tomorrow, i will be sure to take a million photos. as usual.

ronnie is so adorable. i want to squeeze her all the time. i don't know how normal it is to be completely obsessed with your cat, and to always be telling your boyfriend to come look at the cute way she is resting on the bed, but i don't care. i love her.











i started harry potter arm. it is beautiful. jake miller at 11th street is doing it. jake fucking ROX. he is in my blog list so go look at his stuff. it is awesome. i will post one picture of it because i feel weird showing it. it is strange having people ask me if they can see my arm and asking why i got a harry potter tattoo and asking what a time turner is. read the books. duh. i cannot wait to add more to it! i love it oh so much.

i suddenly have 22 followers, and i think i know who half of them are.
it kind of freaks me out that strangers can just stumble upon my blog, how did they find me? and am i really interesting enough to follow?

like today, i want to punch someone real hard. right on the mouth.

i am such a debbie downer lately, everything puts me in a bad mood. everything pushes me over the edge.

like today for example, i called my pharmacy to refill my insulin. i have BARELY enough to eat things today. just barely. so i call in and they tell me i am out of refills. strange, because last month they said the same thing. they faxed my doctor and he sent in the refill. the box my insulin came in said i had TEN REFILLS. i am not sure how it went from ten to zero, but whatever. my diabetes doctor is not practicing anymore. last month around the 24th i received a letter saying he was no longer seeing patients, and that all future appointments were cancelled. so now i have to find a new doctor. fucking awesome. i doubt anyone knows a good diabetes doctor. maybe megan facer?

anyway, i just wanted to whine some more on the internet so i hopefully don't freak out at trevor or start crying randomly.

this is how i feel right now.

i feel crazy.

stupid winter. stupid SAD. i wish that it would hurry up and be spring already. i am so antsy for it to be sunny and somewhat pleasant again. i have early spring cleaning fever too. my life feels like it is in shambles right now, i want to deep clean and organize everything, sadly, i have little time to do this. maybe i will take a day off and get rid of a lot of the crap that is in my apartment.

i am suffering big time from seasonal affective disorder this winter. so is trevor. i started taking st john's wort and iron supplements a couple of days ago. hopefully that helps a bit. and vitamin D. i should get my lazy ass to the gym, that would probably help a lot too. but one thing at a time for now.





luckily trevor and i have each other and our little beast to keep us happy. she is amazing. except when chewing through chords. that is not so nice. she is getting so big, i want her to stay small. but at the same time i am excited to see just how monstrous she is will be. trevor and i both think she is going to be a giant cat.

The recent news that Conan O’Brien will be replaced by Jay Leno has caused white people to erupt with rage and hostility. You might even expect them to lash out and do something about it like take to the streets or write a letter to NBC to voice their dissatisfaction with the network. But no, white people will solve this problem the way that they solved the election crisis in Iran – through Facebook and Twitter status updates. In 2009, millions of white people took 35 seconds to turn their twitter profiles green, and consequently sent a very powerful message to the leaders of Iran. Their message was that they wanted their friends to know that they would stop at nothing to ensure freedom and democracy for the Iranian people. Thanks in large part to that effort Iran is now completely democratic. With that issue settled, white people are launching a similar campaign for Conan that is sure to have similar results.

It is not hard to understand why white people love Conan O’Brien, he embodies so many of the things they already like before he even opens his mouth: Ivy League Schools, Red Hair, the Boston Red Sox, Self Deprecating Humor, The Simpsons, and Bad Memories of High School (likely, but not confirmed). Seeing him on television five nights a week is a comforting reminder of community to the white people who still have televisions.

But if your plan is to try to use Conan O’Brien as a way to get white people to become more interested you, then it is imperative that you understand a few key rules. Firstly, all white people love “the masturbating bear,” if you don’t know what this is, do not worry. Just state your love for the character, and the white person you are talking to will simply fill in the rest. Secondly, all white people believe that Andy Richter never should have left the show. And finally, you should do your best to develop a “Triumph the Insult Comic Dog” impression. All white people already have one, so you might as well try to fit in. Complete these steps and watch your friendship with white people become considerably smoother.

Now, the biggest and most important thing to remember is to never, under any circumstances bring up a Conan O’Brien sketch or joke that has taken place in the last three years. You will be met with only blank stares. For you see, while white people will fiercely support Conan O’Brien in any public forum, they always fail to support him in the only way that actually helps – by watching his show.

Note: Under no circumstances should you ever mention that you prefer Jay Leno. This might cause white people to think you have the same taste in humor as the wrong kind of white people, or worse, their parents.

i have a kitty!

this is my baby. her name is ronnie the bear, after ron weasly in brad neely's version : wizard people, dear reader. which, if you haven't heard or seen yet, you are missing out.
i have been looking for a kitten for a while now. and she is perfect. it was love at first sight. she is so sweet and snuggly and playful. all in one.
the humane society says she is around 2 months old, but i think she is closer to 3. maybe 2.5 ish.
she likes to give little kitten kisses, and look at herself in the mirror. she is not very good at jumping on the bed yet, but i am sure she will have it down in no time. and she plays with her tail. presh.
but she has been farting a lot. ha ha that better stop as it is neither ladylike or pleasant to be around. right now she is exploring my apartment and playing with everything in sight. i love her.
